About — brian wertheim

Brian Wertheim (b. 1989) is an American photographer and director from Los Angeles. His work attempts to acknowledge the resurgence of folkloric and autochthonous symbols in our modern time––building on the tradition of documentary fiction, he has coined the term “paleo-realism” to describe this way of seeing.

His short non-fiction film, “MR SOMEBODY,” was an official selection at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival and other Oscar-qualifying film festivals.
