Brian Wertheim (b. 1989) is an American photographer, director, and writer from Los Angeles. His photographic practice explores the traditions of documentary fiction and neorealism, with long term projects placing a further emphasis on the reemergence of symbols from antiquity and the pre-modern era—to describe this way of seeing, he has coined the term “paleorealism.”

His short non-fiction film, “MR SOMEBODY,” was an official selection at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival and other Oscar-qualifying film festivals.
